Michael Holmes
Founder & Owner
Michael revealed his natural talent for making jewelry when he was just 12 years old, silversmithing in shop class. Encouraged by his grandmother, who bought him a rock cutter, Michael started cutting turquoise. His craftsmanship earned the respect and admiration of local Native Americans in Southern Utah, who became his first customers. Michael spent his teenage years cutting commercially for jewelry manufacturers, and learning the arts of both gold and silversmithing. He opened Mike’s Custom Jewelry at age 23, confident that he could succeed by providing an extraordinary experience to everyone who walked through the door.
Michael’s premier skill is making custom pieces that are truly one-of-a-kind. He is committed that each piece reflects the unique purpose for which it is intended, whether it is an upcoming marriage, anniversary, graduation, or preserving a diamond that has been in the family for years. Michael’s talent as a craftsman is matched by his gift for building trusting relationships with his customers, many of whom are now lifelong friends. Relationships which have even seen three generations served. He guarantees satisfaction, and goes out of his way to help people honor and celebrate the significant events and relationships in their lives.
Dino Tsortanidis, G.G.
Manager & G.I.A. Graduate Gemologist
Dino has been in the jewelry business since 1987 and is a G.I.A. Graduate Gemologist and our appraiser. Before joining Mike’s Custom Jewelry in 1997, Dino exhibited wholesale jewelry at the most prestigious jewelry, and gemstone shows all over the United States. At these shows, Dino has made contacts with jewelry and gemstone dealers all over the world, and has personally visited, and sold to hundreds of retail jewelry stores in the United States.
Dino is our buyer of gemstones, diamonds and finished jewelry. He specializes in creating custom designs, and loves assisting our customers with questions they may have about gemstones, jewelry; and helping create beautiful, unique, and special jewelry pieces for a lifetime of enjoyment. Some of the most unique gemstones, and custom jewelry designs, in stock, are always a joy and treat to view, experience, and make your own.
DOUG TITTENSOR
Master Goldsmith
With over 50 years of custom design and gold-smithing, Doug is our resident master gold-smith. He is known for his signature style of sketching, carving, and casting each item by hand. His skill and experience are unmatched; and he is dedicated to making each piece of jewelry a work of art. If you can imagine it, Doug can create it.
Anastasia Tsortanidis
Senior Sales Consultant
Anastasia has been in the jewelry business since 1979, and has been with Mike’s Custom Jewelry since 2003. Her vast experience in the jewelry industry, is a great value for our customers, as is her unmatched care for her clients.
